In a must win situation, goaltender Mike McIvor stood tall for North Bay with their backs against the wall to fight another day, avoiding a sweep against top seeded Brantford. The veteran made 44 saves on 47 shots Thursday night, earning first star honours for his outstanding performance.
The Battalion showed fight like they have the last six weeks to make the post season. Veteran Jacob Therrien potted two goals on-route to a 6-3 victory over the high-powered Bulldogs. Nick Lardis, the leading goal scorer in the Ontario Hockey League this season potted his fourth goal of the playoffs but it was not enough on this night.
Rookie Bulldogs defencemen Luca DiPlacido scored his first OHL goal this evening making it a one goal game in the third. The Bulldogs would only keep momentum for a minute and fifty second as Ihnat Pazii potted the eventual game winner. Ryerson Leenders stopped 27 of 32 in his first defeat of the 2025 OHL Playoffs.
Game five will go back to Brantford on Saturday evening at 7pm at the Civic Centre with the Bulldogs holding a 3-1 lead in the series, looking to close it out on home ice.
