The Kingston Frontenacs remained undefeated on home ice in the 2025 OHL Playoffs with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Barrie Colts on Sunday night at Slush Puppie Place.
With the series now tied 3-3, Game 7 is set for Tuesday night in Barrie, where the winner will advance to face the Oshawa Generals in the Eastern Conference Final.
Jacob Battaglia opened the scoring on the power play at 13:45 of the first period. With that goal, the Calgary Flames prospect has now recorded at least one point in every playoff game this postseason.
Emil Hemming responded for the Colts late in the frame, tying the game with his seventh goal in 11 playoff games and sending the teams into the intermission deadlocked at 1-1.
Barrie made a goaltending change to start the second period, as Ben Hrebik replaced starter Sam Hillebrandt following a collision with Ethan Hay.
Hrebik was tested early, including a breakaway chance from Frontenacs forward Joey Willis.
The Colts took a 2-1 lead with a power play goal from Tristan Bertucci, who fired a shot from the point past Schenkel midway through the second.
Early in the third, Jacob Battaglia struck again this time finishing a feed from Tuomas Uronen to tie the game at 2-2. The third period remained scoreless, forcing overtime.
In the extra frame, overage forward Gage Heyes, who had two assists in regulation time, buried the game-winner just minutes into overtime, sending series back to the Sadlon Arena.
After a 42-save performance on Saturday, Charlie Schenkel continued his strong play turning aside 27 shots in the win.
