The Windsor Spitfires took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday after a 7-1 victory at the WFCU Centre.
Nine Spitfires recorded at least a point in the game. Noah Morneau had the biggest night for his club, recording a hat trick and adding an assist. Liam Greentree and Ilya Protas followed up their 4 point night in game 1 with a 3 point effort in game 2. Greentree scored once and added an assist while Protas recorded 3 assists in the victory.
Goaltender Joey Costanzo collected his second straight victory, making 24 saves on 25 shots. Nolan Lalonde got the start for SOO however, he would not finish the game as he was pulled after allowing 6 goals on 28 shots.
The lone goal scorer for the Greyhounds was Owen Allard who scored his second of the postseason. It was a power play goal scored at the 10:16 mark of the first period. Chase Reid and Marco Mignosa picked up the assists.
This series now shifts up north to Sault St. Marie where the Greyhounds will look to get themselves back in the series. Game 3 takes place on Monday at 7:07pm at GFL Memorial Gardens.
