College Football Week 11 Picks

We have made it to week 11 in the college football season. Now for the first time this season it seems as if the rest of the season could be in jeopardy. There are widespread cases of Covid and contact tracing at many schools that have caused cancellations this week. With all that is unknown right now, we just need to enjoy college football while we still have it.

Last week was a huge weekend for playoff implications Georgia got blown out by Florida and that was likely the dagger to keep them from making the top four. Also, Notre Dame won a thriller in OT against Clemson. While that one loss doesn’t end Clemson’s hopes of making the playoffs it definitely hurts them, especially if Notre Dame runs the table.

Looking back to last week’s picks I had my best week so far. If you followed my picks you would have made some money. Last week I went 16-11 and I am looking to go above .500 for the third straight week. Keep in mind that there aren't a whole lot of games to pick from this week so the selections will not be as lengthy.

Iowa (-3) @ Minnesota: This game is being played tonight on a Friday. I am always nervous for a home team playing on Fridays, so I am leaning towards Hawkeyes here.

East Carolina @ 7 Cincinnati (-27.5): Another Friday game, but in this case Cincinnati is lightyears ahead of East Carolina. Bearcats win huge.

Middle Tennessee (+23.5) @ 16 Marshall: The first of the Saturday games begins in West Virginia. I like Marshall to win, but MTSU finds a way to cover.

9 Miami (+2) @ Virginia Tech: I am kind of surprised that Virginia Tech is favored in this matchup. Regardless, I like Miami to outright win.

10 Indiana (-7.5) @ Michigan State: Indiana is off to an incredible start. If they want to be the real deal they need to beat teams like Michigan State.

TCU @ West Virginia (-3): Although they haven’t been great, West Virginia has been a surprisingly good team this year. I like them to cover at home.

South Alabama @ 25 UL Lafayette (-16): I do not know a whole lot about UL Lafayette but I know South Alabama is pretty bad. UL Lafayette by a ton.

20 USC (-14.5) @ Arizona: This has the makings to be a surprisingly good game, but I think USC runs away with it late.

2 Notre Dame (-13.5) @ Boston College: This has upset written all over it. Notre Dame is coming off a huge win and is facing a Boston College team that is not all that bad. That being said, Notre Dame finally has some respect and I think they know they have to win this game to keep it.

23 Northwestern (-2.5) @ Purdue: These are another two teams I do not know a whole lot about. But Pat Fitzgerald is a solid coach and he should lead Northwestern to a sizable win.

11 Oregon (-10) @ Washington State: I really like Oregon in this game, in fact I like them so much I am making this my LOCK of the week. Oregon by 45.

19 SMU (+2.5) @ Tulsa: I don’t quite understand why SMU is the underdog here, but anyway SMU is my UPSET of the week.

South Carolina @ Ole Miss (-11): This will likely be the only SEC game played this week. Unfortunately it’s these two teams. Ole Miss walks all over South Carolina’s defense and wins big.
