Bouncing back after a shutout loss in Game 3, the Kitchener Rangers took care of business in Game 4 of their first round matchup against the Flint Firebirds on the road, giving them a 3-1 series lead heading back home to The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
After a scoreless opening period, the Rangers scored a pair from Jack Pridham and Tanner Lam, before Connor Clattenberg got the Firebirds on the board before the second intermission.
In the final frame Kitchener would put it away thanks to Trent Swick, who had three points, and a pair of late powerplay goals to close out a convincing 5-1 victory.
Jackson Parsons was solid when called upon, stopping 23 of 24 shots while Nathan Day stopped 31 of 36 in the loss with seven powerplay opportunities for the road Rangers.
A quick turnaround for Game 5 that will go tonight from Kitchener as the Rangers look punch their ticket to round two of the 2025 Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
