OHL Graduate Robert Thomas Named Captain of St. Louis Blues
Former Ontario Hockey League standout Robert Thomas has reached another milestone in his impressive hockey career, being named the 25th captain in St. Louis Blues franchise history.
Thomas began his junior career with the London Knights before joining the Hamilton Bulldogs, where he won J. Ross Robertson Cup titles with both franchises.
The Aurora native was also a Memorial Cup champion, a World Junior gold medallist and took home the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as playoff MVP during his time in the OHL.
The following season, Thomas helped the Blues capture their first Stanley Cup title, becoming the first player in OHL/NHL history to win both championships in back-to-back years.
In 530 career games, all with the Blues, Thomas has 132 goals and 460 points. He has also made the playoffs in five of his eight seasons in St. Louis.
The Knights and Bulldogs graduate has continued to build a remarkable winning pedigree and will now be counted on to help lead the Blues as they continue to rebuild their roster.
