Kash Kwajah making early impression with Sudbury Wolves and Canada Red

Kash Kwajah has made an early impression with the Sudbury Wolves and is building on that while representing Canada at the 2026 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
The 16-year-old forward leads Canada Red in scoring with two goals and two assists through its first two games, a win over the United States and a loss to Finland; including a highlight reel goal that has gone viral. A scout told Scott Wheeler of The Athletic that a name that comes to mind when they watch Kash play is Hockey Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman. Big shoes to fill for the 16-year-old but amazing praise nonetheless.
Drafted fifth overall by Sudbury in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, Kwajah has made an immediate impact with the Wolves, tallying 15 points in 13 games before leaving for the tournament.
While Kwajah is enjoying his rookie season in Sudbury, the chance to play for his country has been just as memorable for the Etobicoke native, especially with the tournament being played in Oakville.
"It's an experience like no other," Kwajah said. "Getting to wear the Canadian crest on your chest, playing in front of hometown fans is just amazing."
"When I got the call, I was so excited, just wanting to get down here as soon as possible, just trying to have a good tournament with these special players, and just hopefully we turn it into a great experience."
With four points through his first two games, Kwajah has been one of Canada Red's leading offensive contributors as the tournament continues.
